Boots Cash Chemists

This one’s bringing our nerdy law side... Boots Cash Chemists is the famous contracts case where goods on display in a shop are considered an ‘invitation to treat,’ rather than an offer to engage in business.  This means that when a customer comes to the counter to pay for a product, the shop assistant can refuse to enter into the contract as the customer is merely making the offer to buy the product.
